Cancellations

All activities at the school have been canceled until further notice. This includes any community events, club activities and any use of the school after hours. We apologize for the inconvenience.  

Phone a Teacher!

Dear Cascade Families,As we see you stopping by to pick up materials for your students, we are extremely grateful for your help in educating your children. That said, we know you have plenty to worry about without adding "teacher" to your list of things to do. Teachers are available to teach your kids from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, by phone or online. Please have your child contact their teachers whenever they are stuck, have questions, or just want to say hello. While maintaining distance is important, we miss your children and would love to hear from them. Remember, we have FREE breakfast and lunches available to ALL kids ages 0-18 for pickup at the school Monday through Thursday. Please let us know if you need assistance. You and your children are very important to us.

Board Meeting

The Regular Board Meeting of the Trustees will be held at it's usual time, 6:00 pm. To follow state and government guidance of social distancing, the meeting will be held in the cafeteria, as opposed to the board room. If you plan to attend the meeting, please practice social distancing and spread out 6 feet from one another. Following the Regular Meeting will be and Emergency Meeting. Please see the Agenda tab for details. 

Paper Learning Option Information

Teachers are working hard today to create lessons appropriate for distance learning for the next two weeks. For those families choosing to have their lessons delivered by paper packets, we have arranged the following schedule:Wednesday, March 18 Pick up work from the school.Friday, March 20 Drop off completed work and pick up the next week's assignments.Friday, March 27 Drop off completed work.With the exception of picking up assignments tomorrow, this schedule allows us to focus our disinfecting efforts to better protect and prevent the spread of germs. Thank you for your understanding and assistance. 

Distance Learning Information

Teachers will be calling families tomorrow to determine your prefered method of distance learning. You will need to choose between online or offline. Online education will be delivered through the school website, Google Classrooms, and Google Sites. Offline education will consist of work packets that will need to be picked up and dropped off at the school. Teachers will be preparing for instruction tomorrow, March 17. We plan to resume educating students Wednesday morning through distance learning.

Students can come collect belongings

Parents, At this time we will be working on getting content out for students to continue learning. With that in mind the school will be open from now until 6 P.M. today and again tomorrow from 7 A.M to 6 P.M. for students to come in and collect any books, Chromebooks, personal belongings, or medications. We will keep you informed when the content is available for your students. 

Sports & Activity Postponement

Due to the school closure, all activities will be postponed until further notice.  This includes all sports, activities, open gyms, drivers education the JH Dance and Prom. 

School Closure

Governor Bullock has closed public schools as of Sunday evening, March 15. At this time, students are not to show up at school. Bus routes will not run. We will be discussing our options as an administrative team tomorrow. Please stay tuned to the website and our Facebook page for updated information. 

COVID 19

Hello everyone,I wanted to let you know that the school is preparing and planning for all possible scenarios associated with COVID-19. Please rest assured that our school, the administration, and school board are working hard to be prepared and make informed decisions. This is a very dynamic situation and will require us to work together to do what is best for our students and the community.You can help us by following these steps to help prevent the spread of the virus.1.     Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and throw the tissue in the trash.2.     Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.3.     Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds.4.     Do not share foods or drinks5.     Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.6.     Stay at home if you are sick.7.     Avoid contact with people who are sick.The school's staff did a deep clean on Friday of the school, disinfecting all surfaces. The staff will continue to disinfect daily. We also have disinfecting wipes in every classroom to allow students and teachers to clean surfaces as well as hand sanitizer in each classroom.  We are also working on methods to deliver instruction at home to students if the need arises. Please remember to stay home if you are sick, have a fever or a cough.Here is an excellent article on protecting yourself.How to Protect YourselfThese are stressful times.
