2024 School Election Information

The 2024 School Election is set to be held on May 7, 2024. The Election will be conducted by mail ballot. Trustee Candidates may file for election starting December 14, 2023 and ending no later than 5:00 pm on March 23, 2024. The declaration of intent form can be found below. Two seats are open for election - two (2) Elementary & High School seats representing School District No. 3 & B. The district will also be running a General Fund and Technology Levy Election. The District will be asking voters to approve the renewal of the 10-year permissive Technology Levy in the Elementary and High School Districts.

School Board Candidate Requirements:

Candidates

  • Must be registered to vote in the District
    • Must be: at least 18 years of age, a resident of the state and county for at least 30 days, US citizen
    • Must not  be: a convicted felon currently serving a sentence in a penal institution, determined to be of unsound mind by a court of law
  • Must be a resident of the district
  • May not be an employee of the District
  • May not  be running for another public office
  • Must file oath with the District Clerk by March 28, 2024

Voter Information:

Voters

  • Voters must follow the same regulations stated in MCA 13-1-111:
    • Registered as required by law
    • At least 18 years of age
    • A resident of the state and county for at least 30 days
    • A US citizen
    • Not a convicted felon currently serving a sentenced in a penal institution
    • No adjudicated to be of unsound mind unless restored to capacity as provided by law
  • Regular registration closes April 8, 2024
  • Late registration opens April 9, 2024
    • Electors may late register after close of regular registration and until noon the day before the election. Late registration re-opens on election day.
    • Late registrants obtain certification from the county and must present to clerk
